Molly graduated with a BA in psychology from Clemson University, and received her MA and Ph.D. in African History from Emory University in 2012. Her published works have appeared in prominent journals in her field, including Journal of African History and American Historical Review. She taught history at the collegiate level at Emory University, Spelman College, and Davidson College before spending ten years as Associate Professor of African History at the University of West Georgia. Focusing her career on teaching and pedagogy, Molly integrated her experiences teaching a diverse range of students to develop a classroom approach devoted to doing, thinking, and growing.
Molly retired from academia when her oldest child began kindergarten at CAA. This presented an opportunity to retool teaching approaches to a younger age and to create an entirely new world history curriculum that fosters skills in historical thinking, critical problem solving, and communication for primary and middle grades. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.
